Last year I was scrolling through the Internet for travel quotes when I had two thoughts: Umm why are none of these by women and why aren’t there ANY quotes about solo travel? And it’s not as though I purposely set out to write a book that would fill the quota for both, but ten months later here we are.
Every chapter, every word was infused with the stories and advice I WISHED I’d had before I started travelling solo. I realised that unintentionally in doing that (all the infusing like a wordy cup of Tetley’s) I’d created some quotes of my own. So without further ado, I’ve cherry-picked some of the best solo travel quotes from Girl, Solo – A Modern Guide To Travelling Alone and gathered them here for your viewing pleasure.
Solo travel quotes also make AWESOME travel captions for Instagram. If you use any, be sure to tag me @girlsolothebook so I can reshare. Feel free to write them, share them, tattoo them on your face… but remember to give credit where credit is due.

Tips for travelling alone for the first time
In 2016 I took my first solo trip, and let me tell you I was scared out of my damn mind. I felt like I had no idea how to actually travel alone for the first time. But somehow I mustered up every ounce of courage I could find (which at that point was not a lot) and flung myself headfirst into the unknown.
Four years on I’m STILL travelling solo, and have ventured to the US, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Korea, Spain, German, Japan and the Phillippines alone. Now, I want to help you take on the world solo too.
Although I’ve learned a lot since 2016, I remember how those first few precarious steps felt. I desperately wished I had someone to ask about the little questions, even the big ones. Sometimes I still think about how much easier life would have been if I’d had one place to go for the essentials.
That’s what led me to write Girl, Solo – A Modern Guide To Travelling Alone an ebook packed with tips, stories and resources for the first time solo traveller. Already women are putting the lessons in the book into practice. Like Katie, who travelled solo from Canada to Thailand or Meagan who’s planning her solo trip from Texas to London.
If you want to travel the world solo I know you can do it. And these inspiring solo travel quotes are just the beginning.

If you spend your precious and limited time waiting for the right person to travel with, then – before you know it – life will have passed you by.
Know that I haven’t met a single person who regretted their decision to travel. The only regret I’ve heard has been wishing the could have started sooner, or stayed longer.
Don’t let another year pass you by. Sure the world isn’t going anywhere. But you are. You have no idea how your life and circumstances might change.
